Life Isn’t Lived On Paper

After 7 and a half years of building, this week, I’ve officially let go of my role as Co-Founder and Director at Self Space.

There is, like with any ending, a long story and a shorter one. This is the shorter one…

On paper, life was going class. Great brand, meaningful work, incredible growth:

  • we opened the world’s first on-demand mental health service on the high street

  • grew from 4 therapists to 140

  • delivered 120,000+ sessions

  • opened 4 more sites

  • raised a couple of million quid to support the expansion

  • supported some of the world’s best companies

  • it was home to my writing, tone of voice and creativity

And for someone born into a family that had less than 0 when it came to monies, the financial security that it offered was huge for me. I’ve never had that. My ego was buzzin’: successful, impressive, safe, celebrated. Things were going well and I was doing all the right stuff.

But, life isn’t lived on paper.
